Your dental hygiene

Each treatment with us is individually tailored to your needs and everyday life. Teeth cleaning must be individually tailored to you. Together we will create a treatment plan that is perfectly matched to your daily life and medical history. Before each treatment, you will be informed precisely about the procedure. This creates a pleasant and trusting feeling and helps you reduce anxiety. Our most important aspect is, that we focus on thorough and painless professional dental cleanings. For this we use hand tools, Air Flow and Perioflow or ultrasonic devices. The interdental spaces are gently cleaned with dental floss. One treatment lasts about 60 minutes.

Each of our dental hygienists have many years of experience and are distinguished by their great expertise and sensitivity. We care about your teeth also after the treatment. To get your oral health back to scratch, we give you individual and valuable tips to take home with you.

FAQ

We believe in prevention of oral health issues, rather than waiting for the problems to occur.

Dental-hygiene is the best way to prevent tartar and therefore also prevents against caries and periodontitis, which are the most common dental diseases. Consequential damage is usually very time and cost intensive. Professional dental cleaning with implants and braces is particularly important.

At Global Dental we provide you detailed advice and information on the respective treatments. Effective prophylaxis and a healthy oral hygiene is effective only when you understand the causes. Through regular teeth cleaning, our patients keep their teeth healthy and looking beautiful which helps you to feel good in your day-to-day life.

Your teeth and your oral health are very important to us. Therefore, we recommend the professional dental cleaning at Global Dental at least twice a year.

In periodontal disease, chemotherapy patients or during pregnancy, we recommend professional dental cleaning every 3 to 4 months.

However, oral health can not be generalized. It varies individually from person to person.

Red or swollen gums, bleeding gums or sensitive tooth necks (dental cervix) and unpleasant halitosis are signs of periodontitis. If you note any of the aforementioned symptoms do not wait longer and call us for a consultation.

Prophylaxis for diabetics

Not knowing what diabetes has to do with your teeth and gums is a legitimate issue. Diabetics have too little insulin in the blood which results in sugar remaining for too long in the blood, it circulates and with time damages the blood vessels. The blood vessels within the nearest periphery (capillaries) are particularly affected. So for diabetics it can quickly lead to gum problems and periodontitis.

If you suffer from periodontitis, then the blood sugar regulation for the body is even more difficult. Due to their weakened immune system, diabetics are more susceptible to periodontitis. Teeth and gums are attacked by bacteria and this leads faster to gingivitis, or tooth decay.

For diabetes patients, we recommend every 3-4 months professional dental cleaning in our clinic. This helps you to get a healthy and stable oral hygiene and can prevent unpleasant damage to teeth or gums.

The prophylaxis for pregnant

Pregnancy affects nearly every aspect of a woman’s life. However, what’s often forgotten is that pregnancy has an impact on your teeth and gums.

The best approach is a consultation with our dentist or dental hygienist once you are pregnant. Pregnancy can affect women’s teeth in a variety of ways. It’s very important that we can advise and assist you according to your individual needs.

We also encourage a regular and professional dental cleaning at Global Dental during pregnancy to prevent any caries or gingivitis. This can be performed at any time during pregnancy.

Our entire team is looking forward to welcoming expectant mothers.

Most women notice some changes in the gums during pregnancy. Redness or bleeding gums is common and occurs due to increased hormone levels.

These signs are known as “pregnancy gingivitis” which can occur in the second month. In general, the symptoms tend to decrease around the eighth month. After your baby is born, they usually disappear completely.

During pregnancy, the levels of progesterone may be 10 times higher than normal in your body. This process can accelerate the growth of gingivitis-causing bacterias.

Follow a balanced and healthy diet with plenty of protein, calcium and vitamins A, C and D. Brush your teeth twice a day for two minutes with fluoride toothpaste. Use an antibacterial mouthwash. This helps eliminate the bacterial cause of gingivitis. Mouthwash which minimizes the acidity (pH) of the mouth, are also recommended.

Please call or contact us once you have determined the pregnancy. We would be delighted to care for expectant mothers and their healthy and beautiful smiles.
